My Dopod 838Pro for the last 3 days has continuously been displaying a “The Speakerphone is on” notification bubble. This was starting to get real annoying because it was actually turned off.

I tried turning it off via all the usual approaches, while making a call hitting the Speaker Off button or selecting the “Turn Speakerphone Off” menu item, rebooting the phone, etc. all to no avail.

After doing some searching on the net for a solution I read that by holding down the Answer/Call button for a couple of seconds during a call would turn the Speakerphone on.

So I thought I’d give that a go and called my work (as it was late and no one would be there to answer) and tried it and what do you know the speakerphone icon and notification disappeared and everything is back to normal again.

Very Weird!
