Dopod 838Pro WM6 Upgrade temporary unavailable

Ever since I first read a couple of months ago that HTC will be providing a free update to Windows Mobile 6 for the Dopod 838Pro I’ve been waiting in anticipation for it. So you can imagine how excited I was when I read that they have announced that is available.

So without wasting any time I go to download the updated ROM and received the following message.

htc-asia-wm6-not-available

Noooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

UPDATE: The announcement is now saying that it will be available tomorrow the 12th July. Lets hope fingers crossed!!

  5. It looks like the Australian version of the ROM will be released next week due to “unspecified “software changes” that are being made to the operating system”

  6. If you have a dopod 838pro and don’t use 3 phone company in Australia, this ROM works ok…

    This ROM has a issue with the 3 website, and dopod are fixing it. This was the reason it was pulled.

  7. Unfortunately I am with 3 so I’ll just have to wait :(

    I thought the problem with the Australian ROM might have been due to 3 because when I first got the phone there was known a problem with the streaming of video and audio data when using their Planet 3 portal which they fixed in a later ROM.

    Looks like they left out the fix in this one.
